Christmas Prep

Finn has been having lots of fun helping to get ready for Christmas. We went and got our tree and he helped decorate it. He likes to rearrange the ornaments on a daily basis and he ALWAYS inspects the lights to make sure they are in good working condition. It's good to know that our Christmas tree is in such good hands.

My friend Alisha gave us "Elf on a Shelf" and if you haven't seen it, you should definitely check it out. The whole idea is that Santa sends you a house-elf to keep tabs on boys and girls and then goes back each night to report to Santa whether they've been good or not, and each morning the elf comes back and reappears in a different spot in your house. It's a tie on who enjoys this more: Mark getting to hide Elfie in new, creative spots or Finn trying to find him.

We've made popcorn garland (which mostly ended up on the floor and in Finn's tummy). I picked up this gingerbread train for us to make one afternoon and Finn really enjoyed decorating it. He enjoyed eating the candy even more, which is why there isn't as much candy on the train as there should have been.

Giving me his best "cheese"

This is what the train could have looked like
(I'm guessing the decorators of this one didn't
have "help" from a two year old"

With some carefully placed reinforcements, we were good to go
