Halloween 2011

Happy Halloween from the dark side! Finn chose his own costume this year . . . Darth Vader, which was a complete surprise to me. He has been in a super hero phase lately so I felt sure we would be dressing up as the Justice League. He has been wearing his costume around the house for weeks and even took his trick or treat bucket on a trial run to Ace Hardware. They had a costume parade and big Halloween party at his school.

Field Trip to Boone Hall Pumpkin Patch

The 3 and 4 year old classes at Finn's school took a field trip to the Boone Hall pumpkin patch. The weather was beautiful and the kiddos had a blast. They even managed to sneak in a quick educational program about the lifecycle of a pumpkin. They took a hayride, went pumpkin-picking and ran around like wild men. Fun was had by all!

Getting ready for the "spooky" hayride

Finn and his best buddy, Zack

Making scary monster faces

Actually listening to the pumpkin program

Trouble times three

Finn finds the perfect pumkin

Of course, it's really big

Ugh . . . he did it!

Having fun on the tractor

The bouncy pillow . . . the boys spend most of the morning jumping on this, then running/rolling/sliding/flipping down it

Sporting his 'sand-stache': A hot, sweaty, sticky, sandy mess (more on the head wound later)

Seriously, Finn's teachers told me I could just take him home and bathe
him because he was so filthy instead of coming to have lunch at school. A dirty boy is usually a happy boy!

Still the One

In case you are wondering whether or not night night is still Finn's one and only, guess no more. Recently, we went to Sumter to celebrate Mimi and Bops' birthdays. We (actually Finn) forgot to bring night night. He realized it about half way. The further we got away from his blanket the louder he whined. This is just a snippet . . . now multiply by a 2 hour drive.

When we made it home, he made a beeline for night night and told her he would never leave her again. This is how I found him while we were unloading the car. Listen closely and you can hear Shania Twain's song, "Your still the one" playing in the background.

October Fun

Here are a few pictures to share. And I do mean FEW. . . I didn't realize how little I have used my camera lately. The paint fumes must really be getting to me.

Fire Prevention Week at SI Fire Station
The firemen at the SI fire station threw a big party complete with a fire truck parade of 30 fire trucks, pizza, games, goody-bags, bounce castles, and the grand finale: watching 2 rescue helicopters land on top of the hill! In true Finn fashion, he wore his fireman best and looked the part.

We spend a lot of time outside and up at the playground.
