Christmas came early for Mark and me. We decided to give ourselves a trip to Maui this year. We had been to Hawaii before, but took a cruise and didn't stay on the island. Because we had done most of our sightseeing on our first trip, we were able to be super lazy this trip. This trip, we were the epitome of beach bums, with a capital B!
We stayed at the Grand Wailea in Maui and had a wonderful time. Lots of time was spent at the beach and pool reading books. I did manage to drag myself off of the chair to do some paddle boarding and snorkeling, but that was about it. It was such a relaxing trip . . . no pressure to do anything, including taking pictures, which is why I only have a few to share.
Paddle boarding
(I promise it's me. I asked Mark to take a
picture and this is the "best" he could do.)
What about Finn? Don't feel sorry for Finn . . . he was vacationing with his Mimi and Bop in Sumter. I call it a vacation, because he spent the entire week being pampered by his grandparents: the essence of a vacation! I've said this before, and I'll say it again. We are so incredibly lucky to have parents who are willing and able to take Finn for such long stretches of time so that we can go on various vacations and trips. I know it's a lot of work so I am extremely thankful and lucky. Plus, knowing Finn is in such good hands enables me to truly relax and enjoy my time away. I'm happy because I know he is happy. That being said, it is always hard to leave him. It took me a couple of days before I was able to really relax, but then the week went by so fast and before I knew it it was time to leave.
