Baby It's Cold Outside

Holy walking toddler Batman! Remind me again why I was in such a hurry for Finn to start walking? He is into everything. And what he can't get into, he climbs on top of or gets stuck behind. Some of you may be wondering what he's been doing lately. Well, here are a few things: emptying the recycling bin onto the floor, pulling out the trash, playing in Lily's water bowl and then licking his hands, shredding magazines, climbing into cabinets and emptying their contents, playing in the toilet (when someone forgets to put the lid down) and then licking his hands, unrolling the toilet paper into a big pile on the floor and hiding the remote controls. So this is what we've been up to for the past two weeks: Finn running through the house wreaking havoc and me following behind (and Lily just trying to stay out of his way and keep her tennis balls out of Finn's hands).

Plus, it has been really cold here, probably like most of the country. I mean cold, as in wear your coat and gloves to bed cold. I actually did something you southerners won't believe . . . I shoveled snow and ice from our driveway and then got in the car and left . . . while it was snowing. In the south, the town shuts down and folks ransack the grocery store if there's even snow flurries in a 100 miles radius. Not so much here. It's safe to say that we have had a touch of cabin fever lately.

Fortunately, our good friends Alisha and Samantha came for a visit and provided some much needed entertainment. Finn enjoyed seeing new faces and playing with all of Samantha's cool toys, while I enjoyed having adult conversations and using big words beside "NO." Mark even volunteered to watch the kids while we took a much-needed moms-night out. He didn't so much volunteer as we gave him no choice. Here are a couple of photos of their visit and some other random ones thrown in.

HA! You might want to take the 'learning to talk' under advisement as well...it ends kind of the same way! Bless your heart - I am so sorry you are stuck in another northern winter although we have been pretty cold (for us) down here. KG can't wait for another visit from Finn - hope ya'll have a good week.
